Shana's Bridal Shower

Today I threw a bridal shower for my friend Shana. She is getting married July 31 and I have the honor of being one of her bridesmaids. She is such a sweetie and we all had so much fun working on her shower! I was in charge of games so we played purse scavenger hunt, TP dress bride and Video newlywed game. It was a blast! During the purse hunt all the ladies had to get together in small groups and come up with as many items on the list. There was everything from Pink lipstick to pictures of grand kids. Anything you could think of was probably on that list. The TP bride was one that Shana played at another shower and loved it. We gave all of the ladies a paper doll bride and they had to design the dress using glue, confetti, and toilet paper. Shana was the judge and the girls came up with some pretty creative ideas. Then we played my favorite game. Earlier in the week I interview Mark (her fiance) and asked him 40 questions about his beautiful bride to be. I asked him things "what color is Shana's toothbrush" which he actually answered right. Although when asked what is Shana's favorite food, he got it wrong! It looks like he needs to study up a bit before they get married.
All of the engaged girls! Me- September 19, Shana- July 31, Alicia- August 21, and Megan TBD

Our cute little food display

Beautiful centerpieces, they are actually a mini mock up of the ones for her wedding.

And of course, no bridal shower is complete without opening up something a little naughty.

And so it goes...

Apartment hunting is Evil!!!! Zach and I have looked at several places to live with no luck! Granted we did find a few little stink holes to live in but ya know.. if you feel like when you step in your shower that you are going to get some sort of disease. I don't think we should live there. We think we may have found something today so cross your fingers and Keep praying for us. I know we will find something eventually.

In other news the wedding planning is going along smoothly. My brother and I have spent the last week working in the back yard on different things to make it "wedding ready". Its been nice to work outside and get some fresh air but I'm not exactly digging my new farmers tan! This week I have mastered the power wash sprayer and the hedge clippers. I feel like a champ! Also have been painting a few things and making little things here and there for the wedding. It's been fun. I am really excited that everything is working out and that I have the most amazing fiance in the ENTIRE world! :)

Update on Dad: For those who don't know my Dad was in the hospital for a couple days last week. About two weeks ago he blacked out in our backyard and fell and twisted his knees and ankles. We took him to the emergency room where after 5 hours they kissed his boo boos, gave him an ice pack and sent him home. The following Friday he was having another episode with the dizziness and blacking out so we took him back to the doctor, which sent him to the ER and they checked him in for a couple days. At first they found a growth on his adrenal gland and said that was the source of the problem but after further investigation the found out that it was actually his kidneys beginning to fail. He came home Father's day afternoon and has just been taking it easy for the last couple days. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Whole lot of pictures going on

Last week Zach was in California on a break from EFY. We did a few wedding things but mostly just had some much needed fun! On Thursday we went to Disneyland for free! I have some amazing friends that got us in. We had such a fun day! We even got cute buttons that said "Just engaged" and the other one said ".. happily ever after". They were super cute! We forgot sunscreen that morning so we were nice and pink for our engagement pictures the next day!
L for the future Lymans :)

The classic Castle picture

Zach's favorite picture in the entire park, the mens pirate bathroom sign

Then on Friday we went to the Angels vs Dodgers game with the Webster Grandparents. I was the only Angels fan in the car and I was happy to say that the Angels won!!

This is an awesome picture Zach took on his camera. My honey is a pro!

It's not a true baseball game without a pepsi and a hotdog

So remember a few weeks ago when I did a mock up of one of my centerpieces? Well I bought a little gold fish just to see what it would look like. I didn't really expect it to live because I kept putting it in different bowls and I thought he would die of stress. Well the little guy made it through the night so I bought him a bigger bowl and some food. I named him Timmy and I wish he would just kick the bucket because I dont want to bring him to Utah with me. Anyways after all of this I may have to decide something new for the centerpieces because I dont know what I am going to do with 20+ gold fish the day after the wedding.

Oh, and I started growing sweet peas a few months ago and today was the first day I actually had any pods on my plant. I have to brag about this because I do NOT have a green thumb by any means and I was very proud of myself that anything grew!

100 days to go!

WOOOOOHOOOOOO! I'm so excited that time is going by so fast. There is still so much to do between now and then but I'm sure I will be able to get it done. Zach will be here on Monday which means the engaged couple you all know and love will be reunited (and it feels so good!) haha sorry, couldn't help from bursting into song. Next week we plan on going to Disneyland, Dodgers game, engagement pictures as well as several wedding "chores" that I need to do with my groom by my side. Right now he is loving EFY and all the fun stories that happen every week. He makes frequent trips to the ER taking kids who have gotten sick or hurt. He's my amazing man thats for sure! This is his second week in Utah and then will be finishing the summer in California and Texas.

Our biggest thing right now is trying to find a place to live without breaking the bank. Lucky for me I have a wonderful sister in law who is helping me out alot by looking at places for us. What would we do without her? We love you Lins!

Wedding checklist update...

So I'm doing a "candy bar" at the reception. It's a very fun idea I've fallen in love with. These are the containers I have found so far.

This is my idea for the centerpiece. Hurricane vase with red and orange crushed glass, wrapped in ribbon with my little friend "Timmy the goldfish" swimming around in there. Any thoughts?

This is one of my cute flower girls all dressed up in their outfit! Super cute!
This is the choice for bridesmaid dress. It will be build up on the sleeves to be modest.

One of my thoughts for my flowers, not sure yet but I loved how bright the colors were!

We are doing something like this for the guys. Clean, simple and perfect colors.

I'm getting so excited for everything. It's really coming together and I have so many wonderful people helping me with all of it. I'm so happy to have a few more things checked off my list. Zach will be in town on the 12 and we will be taking our engagement pictures on the 18 as well as have a couple cake tastings and make our decision on that.
