Whole lotta lovin' going on

Lately Zach and I have been able to go on several dates. Due to school being almost done for the semester and me not having a job, it has allowed lots of time to spend together.
I have to admit, I'm not complaining.

So let's recap on all the wonderful dates we've had...
We went on our first hike in the beautiful spring/summer weather.
The Provo Canyon is BEAUTIFUL this time of year.
We even stopped at had snacks. Apples, granola bars, cheese and water.

Another day we drove by Hal's house to look at all the new spring babies.
There were several goats learning to jump and bump heads.
And right next door we found this beauty, a baby horse!
Looks just like her mom.

We drive around most of the time playing the "what if" game.
In this round we played "What if our future house looked like that?"
I want it. I'm in love.
It was featured on Parade of Homes last year.
(Huge thing in Utah that I completely love! You pay a few bucks and get to snoop around tons of snooty fancy houses and steal their decorating tips and dream of the good life)

One evening we stopped by "The Chocolate".
It is a very cute old house that has been remodeled to be a
dessert cafe and each room has tons of sitting areas and they have the most yummy treats!
I know this isnt the most flattering picture of us, but I demanded that a picture needed to be taken because we never remember to take pictures when we do things.

Date Night

Zach is finishing up the semester at school which means shorter days and more time to spend with his wife!

This mean we packed 6 months worth of date nights in about a week.

I'm. So. Spoiled.

One night we went to the planetarium and watched a show called Born to be Wild on the Imax.

I loved it!
I was about a baby Elephant rescue in Africa and a Baby Orangutan rescue in Indonesia.

So amazing to watch... It also added something to my bucket list.

I would LOVE to go to Africa and help take care of baby Elephants for a week!

In fact, I want to do it so badly, I will brave the several shots needed to go to Africa.

And by brave, I mean I will cry AFTER we leave so the doctors don't see.

Growin wild

For those of you living out of state and rarely ever see us. Here is our most updated picture.

Please note the furry man in this photo next to me.

Zach decided to start growing out his hair. We are now on month 3.

Unfortunately, Zach has stick straight hair so there is no volume or curl. Just long, stuck to his head hair. Its almost to the point where it curls just a little bit but maybe another month and the curl will really come out.

But here is a funny story...

While teaching our Sunday school class(age 13-14), Zach asked "hey what do you guys think of my long hair?" Quickly they responded " I like it, but I really wish you would stop cutting your bangs."

HAHA! I about died laughing. For whatever reason, the side of his hair grow MUCH faster then the top which makes it look like he "cuts" his bangs.

I guess this story is much more funny for me because 1. I'm a hairdresser 2. the thought of Zach cutting his own bangs makes me laugh and 3. you would be laughing too if you saw how ruffled his feathers got after that comment.

Anyways dear readers.

Here is my "fluffy" husband.
I just found this picture from a few years ago.

Zach looks a lot more like his brother Nate (bottom right) with the long hair.

Funny.

Here comes Peter cotton tail..

These are the only decorations I have for Easter.

But hey, at least we tried.

I think I like this new tradition for us,

we spread all the candy over the table and leave it to eat all month long!

Here are the little monster eggs we created this year.

Cute Huh?

On a side note, in preperation for finals (next week)

my husband has become a slave of the "man cold".

Poor thing, sleeps all day and still feels like poop.

Lets hope he starts feeling better before all of his finals.

Cuddling my sick "boy" while trying to blog makes things hard.

Hoppy Easter to one and all!

Everything's gonna be alright.

I usually don't write about difficult things. Mostly because years from now, I want to look back at my life and remember only the good things. As I've grown up though, I've realized that sometimes, we need to write about the "bad" things. They teach us and make us who we are.

And sometimes, when things are hard, you just have to sit back
and laugh.
It sounds silly, but I think that God gives you several problems at the same time for a reason.
If He only gave you one,
you would spend all of your time and energy complaining about that trial,
but if He gives you many, you spread yourself too thin
worrying about each one and at some point you
"just don't care anymore" and know you will get through them.
After all, the saying goes, when it rains, it pours.

This month has been interesting to say the least.
I got laid off from my sweet new job in Sandy. Kind of an unexpected random change of events. Deep down inside, I knew it was a risk and thought it was a risk worth taking. They ended up out sourcing the call center I was supposed to run, so my position became obsolete. I also got my MRI results back. Don't worry, I'm still alive. The "growth" or whatever you'd like to call it, is still there. They don't think it is what is making me sick, but they really didn't have any other reason. So now its time for second opinions and more doctor bills. I think we will wait a little longer before we jump into that though.

Zach was just informed that he will need to quit all but one of his part time jobs because the school is changing its policy. Great.

We worry about where the next few months are going to take us. How we will support ourselves, take trips with the family and prepare for the future?

But then we remember the blessings:

The MRI results weren't bad or anything scary.
Zach hated his job anyways so he will be able to be at home more or find something better.
I liked my job, but hated the commute, so maybe it was time for me to move on as well.
We have our health
We have the support of our families
We have a great dog
We have a wonderful home to live in
We have the gospel in our lives
But most important, we have each other.

We know are children of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him.
If we rely on the Lord, he will provide.
I know that I am part of a WONDERFUL church, that always takes care of its members. I know if we pay our tithing first, we will always have enough to provide. I know with regular temple attendance we will have more blessings then we will ever think we could have.

We will be Ok, we will make it through and we will be stronger for it.

SO...

Tomorrow's another day, and I'm thirsty anyways. So bring on the rain.

Conference Weekend

Oh, General Conference, how we love you! Sunday morning we woke up to a random snow storm. Which made it even more perfect that we could stay in our jammies, nice and warm at home.

I love conference. I love that it comes twice a year. I love even more that I get to hear the words of the Prophet. I am greatful to be part of something so wonderful. I am thankful every day for the Gospel and the blessings we have in our life.

During the break in conference, Zach and I decided to take advantage of the late season snow and play around for a bit. We have not been able to all winter so it was nice to finally find some time.

We even took little Sophie out for an adventure in the snow. She hated it. Mostly because the snow was as big as she is, so she had a really hard time walking in it. But once we cleared a spot on the grass for her to play, she had a blast!

Our family picture with the "conference" snowman, sitting on a snow couch, watching snow tv.

And we made beautiful snow angels.

Happy Spring, Love the Lymans Maybe the sunshine we come soon.
