The Big Sister Club...

Would like to welcome its NEWEST member

TERESA SMITH!!!

Congratulations Teresa on becoming a big sister!

Today Robert Timothy Smith was born!
Time: 10:40 am

Weight:7 lbs 12 oz

Length: 21 inches

Mom and baby are doing great

The road to get to this point was a rough one; but I'm sure now that he is here safe, his Mom will tell you it was all worth it!
It has been so fun to watch my dear friend's family grow these last few years. Its moments like these that I wish I was still in California. Then I could cuddle this sweet boy, play with my adorable T and be near to help and support my friends.

Again, Congratulations Marlo, Jim, and TT on your new arrival.

We are all thrilled for you!

Hey You Guys!

Tonight, for the first time in my life I saw the movie The Goonies.

What else have I been missing all these years?!
My friend Calix and I went and watched it in the park and had a blast!

We ate dinner, people watched and there was even a talent show before the sun went down.

Calix recently visited Croatia (among other places) and brought back TONS of chocolate. Each time we get together she brings a few more pieces to try. The packages are all in German so we always have fun trying to guess what the flavor will be before we open it. Its awesome!

This is by far her all time favorite movie and this is her "super excited" face that we get to watch it on the big screen.

On a side note: I got a pool pass this summer. Notice my amazing tan coming in! yay!

The men we love!

See these studly men below? They are some of the most important men in my life. Zach and I are so so so lucky to have amazing men as fathers. We both grew up in homes that were led by exemplary men and for that we will always be grateful.

Dad's...we love you so much! Happy Father's Day!

Singin' in the Rain

The Scera Shell Outdoor Theater puts on different shows during the summer, and tonight we went to Singin' in the Rain.

It was wonderful! Zach's friend Emily was the STAR which made it even more fantastic to watch. We went with our friends Shaun and Rachel Hughes and enjoyed dinner on our picnic blankets before the show. It was a very gloomy June day so we were hoping that we didn't actually have to watch the show in the rain. Thankfully the rain held off till late that night.

And these are the treats I made for the class for Fathers Day. Corn on the cob cupcakes.

Cute huh? Those kids are so spoiled.

In the words of Garth Brooks

Well it's bulls and blood

It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckleHe'll win the next go 'roundIt's boots and chaps
It's cowboy hats
It's spurs and latigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo
It's the broncs and the blood
It's the steers and the mud
And they call the thing rodeo

Each year we take our dad, Lance toPleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo

Our NEWEST Father's Day Tradition.

We dress up, go to dinner and then see

how many servings of strawberries and cream we can shove in our face

before the evening is over.

For those California folk who ain't never been to no rodeo, y'all are missin' out!

There's:

Mutton Bustin' = Strappin' young children to sheep to see who can hold on the longest. Most of the kiddos give up right away, fall in a face full of dirt, and end up crying.

Man in the Can = Rodeo clown hiding in a "bucket" to convince the bull to attack him aka stupid.

Cash cow= stick several dollar bills along the backs of two small calif's and let as many children as possible (usually 60) chase them until all bills are gone.

Wild cow milking = Five teams of three men chase wild cows around the arena. First team to catch the cow and get an inch of milk in a coke bottle wins. Very difficult and very funny.

Cow Hide racing = Attaching full cow hides to horses via ropes. Children sit on the hides and hold on for dear life. First one across the finish line wins.
Yup, we sure sound crazy. It is prob one of my favorite things about summer though.

The power of those animals, the stupidity of the people, what isn't there to love?!

This year they even ended the rodeo with fireworks! Perfect ending to a perfect day!

Shoot Me

Here's a fun fact.. I model. Kind of.
Don't have an agent or anything but I've done it a few times and really enjoy it.
Here are a few pictures from the last shoot I did.

Its official...

Sophie has just signed up for Service Dog Training.

We are giving back to the community.

She will now do more than sit around the house eating treats all day.

She will have to earn her keep.

Lets hope she does well and passes the test...
